Nobody leaves the list this week. All three schools that were unbeaten after Week 8 added another win in Week 9.

UCLA shut out Nevada 27–0, while Utah won 49–25 at Cincinnati. All three unbeaten schools are in the top ten of my power ratings: Miami is second, Utah eighth and UCLA ninth.

The remaining undefeated schools

All three schools are 8–0 and are listed alphabetically. Each next opponent links to an official schedule source, checked November 3. “At” indicates a road game; “vs.” indicates a home game. Team and opponent records are through Week 9, as of November 1. Dates are in 2026.

School Record Next opponent Date
Miami (FL) 8–0 at Notre Dame (7–1) Nov. 7
UCLA 8–0 at Minnesota (5–3) Nov. 7
Utah 8–0 vs. BYU (7–1) Nov. 7

None of the three has a bye this week. All play on Saturday, November 7, with Miami and UCLA on the road and Utah at home. No matchup pairs two unbeaten teams, but Miami and Utah each face a 7–1 opponent.

Dropping off the list

No schools dropped off the list in Week 9. Miami, UCLA and Utah all moved from 7–0 to 8–0.

Following the list each week

Going into Week 10, the same three schools still have a zero in the loss column. Notre Dame and BYU were both on this list earlier in the season, and now each gets a chance to hand one of the remaining teams its first loss. UCLA heads to Minnesota after three straight home games. All three can stay unbeaten, but each faces an opponent with a winning record. Let’s see how many reach 9–0.
