HPR Top 5 by Position
Hockey Performance Rating combines production, efficiency and on-ice measures on a 0–100 scale within each position group. Compare players within their group; scores are not directly comparable across positions or seasons. These early-season ratings are provisional, and qualification changes can affect the rankings. Goalies are excluded by the HPR model. Players whose source position remains F/W appear in the unspecified forwards group.

Weekly Hot and Cold
Today establishes the baseline for this weekly series. The next comparison is scheduled for November 2, once all rankings are updated. There is no prior weekly snapshot in this series, so hot/cold labels would be premature.
Each week, team hot/cold tables will show the largest increases and decreases in power, adjusted offense and adjusted defense, with rank movement alongside rating changes. Player comparisons will show the largest HPR increases and decreases within each position group. New qualifiers, players leaving the qualified pool and position changes will be reported separately. Changes describe season-to-date ratings between snapshots, not an isolated rating of games played that week. HPR can shift as the qualified peer group changes.
