I’m starting a weekly watch of the remaining undefeated schools in FBS. Everybody on this list still has a perfect record, but the list will get shorter as the season goes along.
There are 35 undefeated schools after Week 3, as of September 20, 2026. Of those, 32 are 3–0, two are 4–0, and one is 2–0.
North Dakota State and Southern California have reached 4–0, while Northwestern is 2–0. The other 32 schools have each won their first three games.

Following the list each week
For this first edition, I’m keeping it to the schools and their records. There are still too many undefeated teams to give each schedule the attention it deserves.
As the list gets smaller in the coming weeks, I plan to expand the posts to include each remaining school’s schedule to date and its remaining schedule. That will let us look at both how a team stayed unbeaten and what stands between it and an undefeated finish.
For now, 35 schools still have a zero in the loss column. Let’s see how many are left next week.
